　　Yantai Maritime Technical School was set up by the approval of Shandong Provincial Government and Yantai Municipal Government. As a key state-owned technical school under Yantai Port Group Company, it has been awarded as Advanced Unit of Teaching Quality Management by Shandong Provincial Labor and Social Security Department and Advanced Unit in professional education of Yantai City. The School covers an area of over 120 mu and owns competent teaching force, excellent teaching conditions and various facilities for teaching, practice and living. More than 10 backbone specialties offered by the cover electromechanical technology, engineering machinery driving and maintenance, digital control technology and processing, automobiles operation and maintenance, electronic information technology, modern logistics management, water transportation management and so on. The targeted employment market mainly includes large and medium-scaled ports along the coast like Yantai Port, Longkou Port, Huangye Port of Hebei Province, Ningbo Port, Chigang Port of Shenzhen City, and large-scaled enterprises of machinery manufacture and electronic processing in Shandong Peninsula. The School has also established stable co-operation relationship in operation internship and employment with industrial zones like Yantai Zhifu District Science and Technology Park, Yantai Development Zone and Laishan District, and signed long term labor employment agreement with enterprises like Shanghai GM Dongyue Automobiles and its supporting companies, Zhenghai Group and Langchao LG. 　　The School boasts complete modern teaching facilities like advanced computer room, audio room, computerized multimedia classroom, physics and chemistry lab and program-control lab. The standard classrooms are equipped with 25-inch color TV sets with internet access, which enables computerized teaching available. There are over 40000 books in school library, of which 40% are professional books and can meet the needs of students in their studies. 　　Focusing on basic professional theories and technical skills in teaching, the school increases the input on specialty teaching, and emphasizes high-tech and practicality as well as students' practical operation abilities. There is driving training ground of 10 mu and over 20 sets of crane and forklift machineries, which enables the students to get direct access to actual driving training in school. To enhance students' practical operation abilities, the school establishes special practicing factory and operation workshops for bench work and electrical welding, provides various electro-machinery as well as electronics technology testing and practicing equipments that can accommodate 300 students to operate at the same time. In digital control processing workshop and automobile operation and maintenance workshop, 200 students can have practice at the same time.
